Manage the IT systems of WEC UK, and supervise and mentor interns. The IT manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the small visualized file, collaboration, and web server infrastructure at two sites, as well as management and support of WEC-owned end user systems and the wired and wireless network infrastructure used by them. This also covers provision of connectivity for end-user owned devices and management of their network traffic. The IT Manager is not presently responsible for PABX systems and Internet connectivity, but the role may expand into these areas. Technologies are selected in conjunction with colleagues who have similar responsibilities at other sites and/or WEC’s international IT team.
Qualifications: A pro-active outlook is required – effective planning so as to minimize service outages and prevent problems, but the ability and willingness to respond rapidly to problems as encountered. Someone who is good with people (users and colleagues), excellent communication and time management skills. Someone willing to work as part of a larger team. Working experience and/or willingness to learn across a broad range of technologies, including: Windows & Mac clients and software, licensing Antivirus, Linux File servers, Email, Web CMS, Backups, Networking, Firewalls, etc.
